Our mission is to provide superior emergency medical care along with prevention and education services to the residents of Weston, in a professional and compassionate manner, free of charge. Weston EMS is widely recognized as the most professional and critical volunteer service in our community. We have a great tradition of high-quality caregiving, by always assisting the sick and injured when they are most vulnerable. Weston EMS was established in 1962 as a first-aid squad operating out of the Weston Volunteer Fire Department. Over the years we have evolved into an independent operating division of the WVFD Inc. Today we are staffed with 55 state-certified EMTs, all unpaid volunteers and town residents. We employ two state-of–the-art ambulances and are supplemented with an advanced life support Paramedic from Norwalk Hospital. We provide Emergency Medical Service to the Town of Weston 24/7, 365 days a year. EMS crews respond to 500-600 calls per year, for a wide range of medical conditions to a changing town demographic. Our community outreach programs such as Heart Smart, CPR training, Stop the Bleed, Accident Prevention, Blood Pressure screenings, and Senior Center visits are some of the many Prevention/Education programs we sponsor and teach to individuals and organizations to help prevent medical emergencies Weston EMS receives no municipal funds for its operations. Your donations stay in the community for the benefit of every resident. It is the essence of community giving.
