Eco Consulting started as a residential energy assessment working with Puget Sound Energy (largest utility company in the Pacific Northwest) to educate their customers on ways to reduce their energy consumption and improve the comfort and health of their living environments. To this date, we have completed over 17,000 Home Energy Assessments and have installed over 220,000 LEDs resulting in an estimated 16 million kWh reduced over the last four years in King County, WA. That's equivalent to ~14,000 metric tons of CO2 or 30,000,000 miles driven. We are currently averaging 5,000 home energy assessments annually. Our missions evolved as our company grew and our focused expanded from residential energy assessments into sustainable community outreach and education, residential and commercial energy assessments, building out software auditing software solutions and creating a contractor network (residential and commercial). We realized that educating individuals and businesses on ways to reduce their utility costs and environmental impact was just the first step. Customers wanted to us to help them with the next steps of actually making the improvements, and so we did. Starting in 2016, Eco Consulting created Sustainability as a Service, a product where we acted as the sustainability department for our commercial clients. We identified and prioritized steps their organization could take to reduce both costs and environmental impact of their organization's facilities and business operations and helped market those efforts to their customers.
