Next to our home visit workshops, online workshop demand has increased tremendously due to COVID19. If you are looking for a nice team-building activity or fun activity to do with your colleagues, friends and family you can contact us. Global warming is an inevitable topic. We hear about it, talk about it, and sometimes try to do something about it. In my attempt to do something about it, I started with my Sri Lankan curry workshops. one might wonder how this can help save the global warming issue. Let me explain how I hope to achieve this. According to the UN’s Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), meat and dairy products accounts for around 14.5% of global greenhouse gas emissions. Current food production alone emits around 13.7bn tons of CO2 per year. By switching to veganism, we could save about eight billion tons of CO2 emissions per year. The math is self-explanatory. This is where my Sri Lankan heritage comes in. Growing up in Sri Lanka meant all kind of spices, loads of vegetables and healthy eating. Since Sri Lanka is a Buddhist country, meat consumption is relatively low. This makes Sri Lanka the perfect vegan/vegetarian curry country. Sri Lankans can make a curry out of anything you toss at them.
