The Coalition for Vermont Student Equity, a Vermont Nonprofit Corporation, is advocating for an immediate fix to Vermont's flawed education funding formula so it will provide all of Vermont's children with an equitable education. The 2019 UVM/Rutgers research report commissioned by the Vermont Legislature documented that for decades our state has significantly underfunded educating children in rural areas, children who attend small schools, children who are economically disadvantaged and children who are English language learners. The 2021-2022 Vermont General Assembly must act this year to implement the recommendations of the Pupil Weighting Factors Report.
