StraLi (from the Italian word 'strale' (arrow) and the portmanteau of the words 'strategic' and 'litigation') was created in 2018 by seven lawyers and jurists from Turin eager to use their expertise for a greater cause: reacting to inequalities and human rights violations for a better legal system. Our tool is the strategic litigation: technique aimed at endorsing an individual case of violation before the competent Courts with the utter aim of bringing a broader impact on the whole legal and social system (e.g. introduction of a new protection or removal of a violating law) for the whole community. Today, we count on more than thirty active members working from across Europe and uniting lawyers and other professionals; six units focusing on different fields of law; and several strategic cases pending before the Courts.
