The Youth Innovation Lab (YI-Lab) is a social enterprise with a mission to challenge the TINA (There Is No Alternative) mentality. It does this by democratizing the skills, knowledge and tools for co-creating regenerative and inclusive innovation that cares for all people and the planet. Our work is to strengthen the local innovation and entrepreneurship ecosystems and nurture the talent of local young people so they can lead and shape the Youth Innovation Lab to fit the needs and aspirations of their community and country. We take an asset and strength based approach. Our starting point is the existing strengths of the person and assets of the community, particularly social relationships and informal networks. We advocate for small, multiple, place-based actions and connectivity to drive large-scale change and promote the value of creativity, research, and diverse knowledge systems.
