ABOUT US — Puritan & Company serves modern American cuisine, with particular emphasis on traditional New England fare, and not without occasional excursions into other ethnic ingredients and styles. Our mainstays are ingredients sourced from farms we know and local. Always with a sense of fun. — Our kitchen and management team has over 45 years of combined restaurant experience from primarily the New England region. The team brings a unique mix of culinary and beverage experience together to offer quality food, local beers, and wine from independent makers worldwide. — Puritan & Company’s space is a casual and fun place to dine. We love to share our excitement about the food and wine we serve like we would in our own home. Guests and their friends should feel comfortable in our friendly and even familial environment as we make our food and guest the number one focus. OUR NAME AND BUILDING — Puritan & Company takes its name from its predecessor at 1166 Cambridge Street, the Puritan Cake Company, a bakery that stood on this spot in the 1930s, ‘40s and ‘50s. OUR STORY — In the winter of 2011, co-owners Ming-Tai Huh and Nick Vantzelfde teamed up with Chef Gilson and GM Chris Yorty to secure the fabulous location on the busy Cambridge Street. — Inman Square is a neighborhood with an extraordinary diverse restaurant community, but at the time still lacked a chef-driven Modern American restaurant. After securing financing from investors and several months of renovations, Puritan & Company opened its doors to the public in November 2012.
