CRA-Tubulars | The Corrosion Resistant Alternative is a newly established engineering firm, backed by decades of excellence, innovation, and commercialization. The company operates in the energy sector and seeks to help operators solve the issue of well integrity, associated cost, and subsequent loss of oil production. The company is in the final stage of designing a titanium-lined composite tubing (or ‘TCT’) that aims to disrupt the deployment of premium metallic tubulars in upstream oil and gas. TCT is the first non-metallic alternative specifically tailored to the downhole market that is dominated by tubulars based on metallic variants. The product development has yielded several patents on the design, material usage, production process, and material chemistry. The cost price of TCT is around Duplex 22. The Market Challenge: The annual cost of OCTG tubing in the oil and gas production industry is estimated to be $91 Billion. The premium alloy market equates to $3.4 Billion for corrosion-resistant tubing. That figure breaks down to $1.7 Billion for chrome 13 and another $1.7 Billion for duplex and Inconel completions in capital expenditures related to corrosion.
