The Board of Cooperative Educational Services of Western Suffolk County, Long Island, NY provides educational programs and opportunities to help adults gain the skills and knowledge they need to be successful in the workplace. Seven programs have been approved for federal financial aid: Auto Technology, Aviation Maintenance Technology, Cosmetology, Diagnostic Medical Sonography, Esthetics, Practical Nursing and Surgical Technology. BOCES also offers a full-time program in Medical Assisting. In addition to these rigorous programs, the BOCES division of career and technical education, known as Wilson Technological Center, offers more than 300 part-time evening courses for adults at five campuses. Adults can learn the skills they need to prepare for a new job, gain advancement on their present job, change careers, or learn a skill for the retirement years.
