The Metropolitan Music Community (MMC) is a 501 (c)3 nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting lifelong participation in music by giving adult instrumentalists, whatever their profession, the opportunity to perform the most esteemed wind band repertoire. We strive to enrich the cultural landscape of the New York metropolitan area by empowering our musicians to maximize their artistic potential. MMC provides accessible, free performances to communities underserved by classical music organizations. Members of MMC ensembles represent a diverse array of professional backgrounds and experience in music. From those possessing master’s degrees in instrumental performance to those just beginning on a new instrument, MMC aims to provide a positive, supportive musical outlet rich in performance opportunities.
