Youth Discovery Programmes (YDP)
www.ydp.co.za"Youth Travel enables young people to enrich their lives with new experiences, to enjoy and to be educated, to learn to respect foreign cultures, to establish friendships, and above all to contribute to international cooperation and peace throughout the world." Francesco Frangialli Secretary-General, World Tourism Organization YDP (Youth Discovery Programmes), founded in 1993, assists in extent of 1,000 people a year to work and travel overseas and our credibility is backed up by our membership to the largest and most prestigious global international youth travel organisation, namely the WYSE Travel Confederation (www.wysetc.org). With a network of 5000 locations in 118 countries, WYSETC members provide international travel and educational experiences for more than 10 million students and youth each year, representing the global community of youth and student work and travel, as well as international education specialists, bringing together organisations active in all aspects of work abroad programmes. YDP was brought about by the increasing desire of young South Africans to experience the world's diverse and rich cultures, traditions and peoples, not as tourists but living and working in overseas communities, as well as share and showcase our own rich cultural heritage and diversity. For well over a decade now, South Africa has been welcomed back into the “global village” and YDP sincerely believes that international cultural exchange programmes, especially for our youth, will help build bridges of understanding and peace between nations. We place young South Africans as Au Pairs, Camp Counsellors and Internships across our Global Village.
