Founded in 1961, Maharashtra Minerals Corporation Ltd (MMC Ltd) is the first Joint Sector company in India. Company was founded and promoted by late Mr. G.B. Newalkar (1915-2008), long recognised as a visionary of Industrial Development in India. MMCL Leases & Operations are concentrated in the Western region of India with Head Office located in Mumbai. The four minerals are - Silica, Kyanite, Bauxite & Fluorspar. Since 1989, company is headed by Mr. A.G.Newalkar who was instrumental in introducing Beneficiation in Maharashtra.
