Skate Agora is a collaborative project owned and managed by Lateral Thinking agency. It´s conceived out of a strong passion for skateboarding, the firm belief in its great boundaries and its potential as a social innovation engine. Driven by four axles - Skateboarding, Education, Culture & Entertainment and Social Impact - Skate Agora leads skateboarding development as a global role model for brands and institutions worldwide. A referent on the progression of skateboarding - Skate Agora defines the technical and competitive development of skateboarding as a sport. At the same time, Skate Agora Academy being the soul at its Barcelona (Spain) location, develops a pioneering and unique educational project in skateboarding, with an agenda of courses for all levels imparted by professional riders of recognized international prestige in the only installations certified by Street League Skateboarding in Europe. Skate Agora as project as well enriches its offer with a multidisciplinary program that contributes with the creation of contents of value and encourages the participation of diverse publics. Aside from being a skatepark, Skate Agora locations are also an art gallery, film and advertising set, screening room, concert hall, festival venue and incubator for constant creative development. On top of everything, Skate Agora develops a complete program with different lines of social action, always offering skateboarding as a tool according to the needs of the local community. Socio-educational intervention and accompaniment of children and families at risk of social exclusion; social inclusion of gender, for immigration and minority groups; volunteering; employment inclusion, or plans for urban space and sustainable coexistence between the skate community and the citizens are Skate Agora core values as a social innovation project.
