The Friday Street Club is a Cape Town based creative communications agency, with its roots in PR, branding and digital.  We're not your normal PR agency of poppies or gaggle of advertising egos though. Our work stems from a belief that no communications can work in isolation; that a brand’s reputation is made from more than a couple of holding statements in times of crises; and that people are influenced just as much by the friends and family that surround them, as by the media they consume. In fact, we’d go as far as to say that if you’re looking for a bog standard press release or some average branding, you’re probably in the wrong place. We are named after a group of eminent Elizabethan writers, poets, creatives and thinkers, including, legend tells it, William Shakespeare, Sir Walter Raleigh, Ben Johnson and John Donne. They came together at the Mermaid Tavern, on Friday Street in London, to discuss, debate and collaborate. They called themselves The Friday Street Club.
