GRR Inc.
www.starweatherwhale.orgGRR Inc. (Global Relief Resources) is engaged in small projects that empower young girls and women in Africa to end violence, through education and the sharing of fresh water resources. At Global Relief Resources, we believe that water is sacred and a human right. We also believe women and girls are sacred and that especially where there is a lot of violence against women--this sacredness needs to be restored. We support safe houses in Africa with fresh water resources and empower those who are leading the movement to end FGM, in small ways. Our local work in America is water and solar-power related. New Orleans is a test site for a new "Fresh Water--A Human Right" campaign for clean fresh water. This campaign will include 1. the distribution of free water filtration units for neighborhood center people, who can share the filtered water with neighborhood members. 2. the locating of a community site for a "free fresh filtered water station." 3. An education campaign for restaurants and food vendors, about what is in the New Orlean's city water and how to filter it, so the water is safe for drinking.
