TYPE-R Ministries
www.recoveryisawesome.comTYPE-R Recovery (Together Your Peers Empower – Recovery) was formed in early 2017 by Matthew D. Schmid after successfully stepping into solid recovery after a long-term battle with Substance Abuse Disorder. Once in recovery Matthew, quickly saw all the holes in the recovery system that if changed would make the step from addiction into recovery easier. Matthew started to get educated in the field by getting his Peer Recovery Certification, attending numerous seminars, conventions and classes, and getting his CDCA. He set up TYPE-R as a 501(c)(3) Non-Profit and used the first 2017 for laying the frame work and coming up with ideas and concepts that would morph the ministry into shape. The second part of the year was used to take those ideas and focus on how to implement them. We did not want to reinvent the wheel. We wanted to innovate what was there and fin the niche that we were called to server and work on and being excellent at what we do by collaborating with others. TYPE-R Recovery has developed into a Peer Recovery Non-Profit that already brings Free Peer Recovery to those in need. Our Mission: TYPE-R Recovery is a peer recovery “Safe Zone” for all people, helping them recover mind, body and soul from the abuse of addictive substances. Our Vision: TYPE-R Recovery strives to be the bridge that connects those suffering from addictions to recovery services already in place, through peer recovery support services. Between those services, we hope to be the glue that ensures that it all works together, to empower those we are trying to help. TYPE-R already works close with many groups coalitions to help in prevention and recovery. They have attended and worked with the Franklin County Opiate Taskforce and the Faith Based Opiate taskforce. TYPE-R works with the Morrow County Drug and Alcohol Awarenesses & Prevention coalition (DAAP.) TYPE-R works on the Youth Sector Committee, Hidden in Plain Sight Committee, Parents that Host Lose the Most Committee and the Coalition Steering Committee and chairs the media committee.
