Spotter
www.spotterpost.asiaOver the last two decades, the capture formats, workflows, deliverables, exhibition media and consumer technology have all evolved drastically, giving creators more power and flexibility to tell their stories in a more immersive manner. Enabling that creative power however requires more planning, organization, foresight, transparency and stronger technical skill sets than ever before. We live in an era where post-production is not just a formality to be completed, but rather an integral part of telling a story where the storytelling as well as the viewer experience can be elevated to a higher level. How do we ensure we don’t simply use the crafts of post-production to fix mistakes, but rather captivate our audiences' attention in every frame? And that is exactly what I have been attempting to solve for most of my professional life and why I wanted to start Spotter. Over the last four years, I served as the Director of Post-Production for Netflix, India where I built a team and worked closely with India’s post vendor and talent ecosystem to change how we look at post-production. After being involved in almost 60 titles over these years across scripted series, feature films and non-fiction content, I realized that much of that expertise and best practices we pioneered on these projects had not spread beyond the Netflix ecosystem. And that had to change. To continue this revolution, I joined forces with Sreeram Ramanathan and Sumeet Kamath, who in many ways have been fighting for the same cause for as long as I have, through Telecartel and Coolab. Together, our goal is to streamline and improve post-production management across India and as many emerging entertainment production markets as possible. In the process, we also hope we can decentralize post-production using technology, and help creators access the finest post-production talent from all parts of the world. Don’t fix it in post. Let Spotter fix your post. Vijay Venkataramanan Co-Founder
