Heritage Dr. Elias Lam Iat Cho, the founder of Chong Kio Farmacia Chinesa (CK), began his career as a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) practitioner and devoted himself to TCM industry since the 1950s. Dr. Lam founded CK based on the values of putting people first. Dr. Lam dedicated his efforts in managing and growing the business, endeavored to make this centuries old TCM wisdom benefits the Community. With our roots entrenched in Macao, the Group has businesses over China, Hong Kong and the United States. Dr. Lam dedicated himself to further promote TCM development and better serve the Community; he founded Macao TCM Association in 1994. In the past couple of decades, Dr. Lam served as a Committee member of Macao Medical Reform Advisory Committee and Macao Health Bureau TCM Doctor Evaluation Committee; as Honorary Advisor to the State Administration of TCM Taiwan Hong Kong Macao Exchange Center; as Visiting Professor of Guangzhou University of Chinese Medicine; as an Executive Director of World Federation of Chinese Medicine Societies and many other professional organizations. In recognition of Dr. Lam’s contribution to the society, the Macao Government awarded Dr. Lam Professional Medal of Merit in 1998. Dr. Lam was a pioneer in the industry, together with his team; he organized numerous international exchange conferences including the Fifth World Congress of Chinese Medicine in Macao in 2008 and Commonly Used TCM Exhibitions in Macao, planting the deep roots of TCM understanding to the public while gaining much attention from the international society. Dr. Lam was very involved in participating and supporting community and social affairs concerning healthcare, elderlies and children and served as a Deputy Director of China Children and Teenager’s Fund, Deputy Director of Macao Tung Sin Tong Charitable Society and Executive Director of Kiang Wu Hospital Charitable Association.
