The District Attorney’s Office, under the leadership of DA John Flynn, is responsible for the investigation and just prosecution of nearly every crime committed within Erie County, New York. Our office is responsible for the investigation and just prosecution of nearly all crimes, including misdemeanors in the city, town and village courts, felony cases in County Court and State Supreme Court and post-conviction litigation in appellate courts. In addition to prosecuting approximately 35,000 criminal matters annually, our office presents cases to the Grand Jury. We also provide legal advice and investigative support to our federal, state and local partners in law enforcement.
