Founded in 1996 by Jeff Antebi, Waxploitation is one of the most eclectic record labels, publishing companies , and artist management companies in an ever changing landscape of music. Waxploitation developed and manages the career of Danger Mouse, who has been nominated for 24 Grammys and has won 6 of them. A career which includes starting bands like Broken Bells, Gnarls Barkley as well as the most recent Danger Mouse & Black Thought project, and producing seminal works for Adele, U2, A$AP Rocky, The Black Keys, Beck, Norah Jones, and Gorillaz. Also the release of the infamous Grey Album. Antebi co-developed and co-manages Gnarls Barkley, and co-developed/co-manages the Grammy Nominated group Broken Bells. He developed ROME with Jack White + Norah Jones, Dark Night of the Soul with David Lynch, and Dangerdoom with MF DOOM + [Adult Swim]. The label currently has the Grammy nominated artist R.L. Boyce, and the Grammy Award winning Don Elektron's Ulises Lozano. Any given day, Waxploitation puts out electronic cumbia from Buenos Aires, or trap music from Seoul, deep house from the UK, or heavy baile funke from deep inside Brazil’s favelas. You've heard it in iPhone commercials, or spots for Adidas, shows like Homeland and Ray Donovan. Waxploitation recently released the Stories for Ways & Means project with Tom Waits, Nick Cave, Frank Black, and Bon Iver, Anthony Lister, Dan Baldwin, James Jean and Swoon. With contributions from Zach Galifinakis, Danny Devito, Nick Offerman and more. Benefitting Room to Read, 826 National, Pencils of Promise.
