EFA is a business concept to provide a new business model for local community energy called "local energy as-a-Service" Local energy as-a-Service comprises several layers (parts 1 and 2 are ready): 1. A way to calculate the unit value of electricity for any size of local energy project using the installation, hardware and running costs of the project spread over time. 2. Finance and Accounting models to sustain a subscription model for local energy based on the project's unit value of electricity. 3. Digital infrastructure for project administration (a fully automated CRM, Accounts and Subscriptions platform). 4. An access control switch for homes that administers the connection to the behind the meter microgrid. Through Local energy as-a-Service EFA aims to catalyse sustainable transformation. Using the comparative cost advantage of renewable technology compared to the grid, EFA would create ethical investments that fund renewable 'behind the meter microgrids' that provide low cost green energy subscriptions to local communities: Households get savings on energy bills Property owners get home improvements that pay for themselves Investors receive stable returns
