www.sztaki.huSZTAKI (founded in 1964) - Institute for Computer Science and Control, member of ERCIM, performs basic and application-oriented research in an interdisciplinary setting of computer science, engineering, information technology, intelligent systems and process control. The Institute also conducts contract-based target research and development, and provides expertise for domestic and foreign academic, industrial, governmental and other partners. More than 200 employees hold university diploma and 90 scientific degrees, supervising many Ph.D. and graduate students. The main fields of applied research and development: Basic research - main domains - Computer Science - Systems- and control theory - Engineering and business intelligence - Machine perception and human-computer interaction R&D Activities - Vehicles and transportation systems - Production informatics and logistics - Energy and sustainable development - Security and surveillance - Networks, networking systems and services, distributed computing The target research and development activities of the Institute aims at creating custom-designed computer based applications, implementing the related software and providing turn-key systems. Scientists and engineers have the necessary field-specific (theoretical, technological and methodological) expertise by which they can complete the functional plan of the system, followed by software design and system development. Quality is an important issue at the Institute: we have an EN ISO 9001:2000 certification. Through numerous EU FP6 and FP7 projects, researchers of SZTAKI contribute extensively to European scientific co-operation projects. Different groups within our Institute work on projects for well-known international and Hungarian companies.
