Overseen by the Investment Management Group Executive Board, the Rights Portfolio is a stepping stone for general members to be exposed to real world investing. A portfolio open to anyone interested, IMG takes long positions in Russell 1000 Index equities and does not engage in complex strategies such as short selling or derivatives. General meetings are held weekly in the Financial Services Lab in the Rauch Business Center. Weekly meetings are open to anyone with the desire to learn about the capital markets and provide input. A typical meeting will consist of a market update, followed by a buy-pitch, sell-pitch, portfolio update, or educational session. Portfolio management is facilitated through buy and sell pitches, where a small presenting team will deliver their thesis and supporting information before opening it up to all IMG members in attendance to vote on the final decision.
