Being a founder is hard af no matter the gender. But if you are a man. You need to suck it up. Sounds familiar? We are taught from a young age that things don’t happen to you, they happen because of you. Your company is being successful? Clearly, you’re a hard worker. Have a wife? Obviously, you wooed her correctly. Got divorced? You fucked up. Your kids are not as attached to you? You should have spent more time with them instead of working all the time. You slowly but surely learn that your value is contingent upon what you do and not just who you are. You never feel truly satisfied just being there. Just existing. You always feel like you have to constantly be working at something. So often we refuse to seek help. We don’t want to admit that a problem might be there. Because we’re afraid that it’ll turn into an indictment of ourselves and no one will sit there and say… ‘It’s not your fault. You’re good enough. You’re valuable just as a human being.’ We’re very similar to women; we’re just not expected to act like it and hurt inside as much as women do. We’ve just been taught to suppress it, so when we do actually cry or articulate our emotional pain, the odds are very high that even those displays are heavily muted. Most of us don’t have the type of friend system where you just go to someone and emotionally vent about your problems. Having zero support is normal, being supported is weird. We got tired of that and we decided to do something about it. Anonhim is an anonymous community without judgement, generic bs, or toxicity to go deep on the topics that matter most. An anonymous community for men founders to share and support each other
