Worthy Village, Inc. is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing impoverished women and children of Guatemala with a better quality of life. To achieve our mission, we partnered with various groups of women who hand-craft beautiful products such as purses, ponchos and scarves. Due to the lack of economic opportunity surrounding the villages, these talented women are left in poverty. Worthy Village acts as an intermediary between the artists and consumers. Our goal is to create a viable marketplace for these women by importing their products to the U.S. for sale at www.worthyvillage.org. We seek to justly compensate the Worthy Women of Guatemala to increase their income. Worthy Village is also involved in other community projects. One such project is the Worthy Village Healthcare Initiative, which seeks to educate families on basic healthcare, hygiene, and CPR. The program also supplies toothbrushes and toothpaste for those in need. Many children of the families we work with do not progress in their education beyond 6th grade. Our goal is to implement an after school program in 2015 in which students can come for tutoring, homework help and extracurricular activities. With your help, Worthy Village can improve the lives of the impoverished people of Guatemala and make futures brighter.
