Related programs and resources support our employees in attaining this achievement. John W Boukamp II was born in Muskegon, Michigan on March 26, 1925. John moved to the Port Huron area as a young child and after graduating from Port Huron High School in 1942, enlisted in the U.S. Navy through the Officers Training Program. John received both his BA and MBA from the University of Michigan. John worked for St. Clair Rubber Company until forming his own company, Huron Rubber Company. It was during his favorite pastime, Golf, that Mr. Boukamp first realized the need for a specialty lubricant in the nuclear industry. At this time, Huron Industries, Inc., was formed. Mr. Boukamp completed the testing requirements necessary to have Neolube No. 1, placed on the Department of Defense Qualified Products List. Huron has been on that list since 1974. Once Neolube No. 1 was established as an effective lubricant for nuclear submarines, Mr. Boukamp pursued other lubricants and sealants to be used in the upcoming market of Nuclear Power. John Boukamp passed away in Port Huron on December 29, 2007. Dry Film Lubricants have been used in the components and/or construction of every nuclear power plant in the United States as a lubricant and anti-seize compound because of the low halogen content, a high level of chemical purity. We supply two distinct variations of Pipe Thread Sealants. NEOLUBE® NO. 100 is a high-performance pipe thread sealant, designed for locking and sealing of metal pipes and fittings. Neolube® No. 1260 is a high-temperature lubricant and sealant is used in critical service applications to 635°C (1175°F) and 2300 psi.
