The Montgomery County Council of Parent Teacher Associations serves 189 local PT(S)As and their over 50,000 - parents, teachers and people in our community who, through advocacy, support the mission of PTA: •to support and speak on behalf of children and youth in the schools, in the community, and before governmental agencies and other organizations that make decisions affecting children; •to assist parents in developing the skills they need to raise and protect children; •and to encourage parent and public involvement in the public schools of the nation. Like every PTA, we are a membership driven organization: •Every local PTA's president and two delegates each have a vote in our assembly •Issues of concern to the membership are the focus of our monthly programs •MCCPTA cluster coordinators serve as a link between local PTAs linked to a high school (a cluster) and the council, sharing information on issues of local and county-wide import
