Today, we face challenges due to climate change that will only get increasingly worse unless we do something about it. EcoFriends is a mobile app currently in development that is looking to shakeup this market. We are committed to influencing people around the world to think about and visualize their sustainable impact. Our vision for the app is to bring sustainability to the forefront of everyone's mind. We take things for granted and we always have a lot of talk and not a lot of doing. So, in order to influence people to form green habits, we want to make it fun through gamification and socialization. EcoFriend's core starts with tracking your habits. We want to make this as simple and as frictionless as possible. We are aiming for it to take seconds to track any new actions. As a user tracks their habits, they will begin to generate a currency that will be important for the rest of the app. Our users are called EcoFriends which is where our name came from. As an EcoFriend you can compete in local and global competitions, sponsored by businesses, organizations, or people. This is to help with keeping people motivated and for bringing users together for a common cause. A big part of tracking is also visualization. We want to show how our users grew and give the ability to see how their friends are doing. The game portion of the app will be a simple roleplaying game, featuring things like raids with friends. The currency in the app can be used in our reward shop, which will hold things like items for your character, cosmetics, and on things like planting trees or donations to charities. Lastly, we want to build in social elements, such as a news feed where you can see what your friends are up to and how they are doing. EcoFriends will also be able to share their progress on social media. Overall, we believe that by building gamification into sustainability, we can make it more fun and motivate people to take action and be the change we need.
