🦄 Unicorn Cancer Thrivers Foundation is a nonprofit working to radically improve the quality of life for stage IV metastatic breast cancer patients and caregivers. Metastatic breast cancer (MBC) is late stage cancer that has spread beyond the breast to other parts of the body. Those living with this disease face not only all issues stemming from early stage cancer (relationships, sex & fertility, family, career, money), but also low survivorship with no cure, lifetime treatments, and immense psychosocial stress. 30% of breast cancer survivors will become metastatic. Metastatic life is exponentially different and needs specialized support. An integrated approach to improving quality of life for those affected by metastatic breast cancer is needed - one that respects the end-to-end experience both inside AND outside the healthcare system, and boosted by resources to inspire, empower, educate, connect, and support. This was the wish of the founder's late wife and best friend, Janice, who defied all odds as an MBC thriver, patient advocate, and catalyst for 10.5 years. Unicorn Cancer Thrivers Foundation was founded to take this forward. We empower those affected by MBC with a mindset and resources to not just survive, but thrive like a unicorn without limits.
