The Chatom Union School District was formed in 1958 and is located in a rural, agricultural, and unincorporated community outside of Turlock, California. The District includes three distinct programs: Mountain View Middle School (grades 6-8, 220 students), Chatom Elementary School (grades K-5, 475 students) and Chatom Pre-School (3-5 years of age, 72 students). The student population is 38.1% Caucasian, 61.75% Hispanic and less than .15% Asian/African-American/Other. The District is characterized by caring and committed staff members and a very high degree of parent participation.
