The story of Allan Scott Family Winemakers is the story of the family, and it starts back in 1973 when Allan and Catherine came to settle in Marlborough. This was a time when the first grapes were being commercially established in what was to become an iconic wine-growing province in New Zealand. Wairau Valley in Marlborough has been its home from the beginning; and it is where it still grows, harvests, makes, bottles and packages award-winning wine that is sold throughout New Zealand and across the globe. With vineyards throughout Marlborough, Tasman and Central Otago, it is one of the few family-owned and operated winery groups of its kind in the region. Perhaps the biggest change for the business has been its evolution into a true family business. Allan and Cathy’s two children have grown up to become valuable members of the business. Their son Josh and younger daughter Sara assumed control of the company and head up the production, management and development of the company with a highly skilled operational team.
