Bánkitó Festival 2018 will take place between the 11th and 154h of July, at Bánk, of course. Like every year, progression is the keyword for Bánkitó’s program guide. We stir up the order of days and nights and we create unexpected collaborations between theatre, activist, cultural and music collectives. We’ve told you to tear yourself out of the everyday, we’ve told you that everyone has more than one side. We’ve talked about migration and corruption while partying to the coolest Hungarian and international bands and DJs. In 2018, Bánkitó will become ‘28. On our 10th anniversary, we jump 10 years back into the future to try and find out what it hides for us and how can we get there anyway. How do we get from tomorrow to the day after tomorrow, and from there to next year? And how can we color our picture of the future, to have something more than the last-eight-years and the what’s-gonna-happen? It is important to us that Bánkitó stay the festival that devotes its publicity every year to a ‘good cause’. In place of vague slogans and sponsored logos, we spread an important message about an issue that not only cripples our life, but the whole country’s. Of course, it would be impossible without the aware and committed community that comes to Bánk every year to make a full house and to make it possible that this unique independent boutique festival splash into the lake again this summer.
