Established in 1920 with the name “Technische Hogeschool”, Institut Teknologi Bandung—or ITB for short—is the oldest technical university in Indonesia. Located in Bandung City, West Java, Indonesia, at Jalan Ganesa number 10, ITB now has 12 faculties or schools with 50 bachelor study programs, 52 master’s programs, 27 doctor’s programs, and 2 professional programs. ITB’s vision is to be an outstanding, distinguished, independent, and internationally recognized university that leads changes towards welfare improvement of Indonesian nations and the world. Since 2014, under the leadership of Professor Kadarsah Suryadi as the rector, Institut Teknologi Bandung has declared to move from research university towards entrepreneurial university. Its purpose is to produce excellent graduates who are ready to be professional employees, excellent researchers in their fields, and great entrepreneurs whose products and researches can be applied in society. In line with its motto, “In Harmonia Progressio” which means “Progressing in Harmony”, ITB promotes and develops the character of students—humble, agile, respect, motivated, outstanding, nation-oriented, and integrity. By upholding three pillars of higher education that comprise education, research, and community service, Institut Teknologi Bandung will consistently produce excellent human resources for better Indonesia.
