SMITH YOUNG is a small, award winning design-led practice based in Liverpool. Established in 1980, the practice has built up a wealth of experience over the years. In 2005 the practice began its evolution into the company’s next phase with the appointment of new directors which have already attracted a number of new clients and striking projects that combine contemporary design with functionality. The office portfolio is varied and ranges from high-spec individual houses, to industrial units, office developments, student accommodation and new build housing and apartments. The practice prides itself in obtaining planning permission for unique designs in sensitive settings and has worked in locations across the UK. We design environmentally and socially sustainable developments not only through the specification of sustainable and locally produced materials, but also through the creation of environments that are durable, that people want to live and work in and will continue to be popular.
