ALIVE!, which stands for ALexandrians InVolved Ecumenically, is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization located in Alexandria, VA. An interfaith organization founded in 1969, ALIVE! is the oldest and largest private safety net in the City of Alexandria dedicated to fighting poverty and hunger. ALIVE! helps people faced with emergency situations or long-term needs become capable of assuming self-reliant roles in the community. ALIVE! serves thousands of individuals every month, providing Food, Transitional Shelter, Financial Help, Eviction Prevention, Furniture & Housewares, and Early Education. ALIVE! is supported by 48 member congregations, volunteers, community leaders, and civic organizations working together to provide basic needs support to people in the City of Alexandria.
