The Sheridan Group, Washington D.C.
www.sheridangroupdc.comThe Sheridan Group began over two decades ago with a simple idea – that good ideas and good causes deserve strong, strategic representation with our elected officials. Twenty three years later, it continues to be our passion and our mission to provide this representation, along with coaching social change leaders on how to effectively do this work. Our clients include non-profits, philanthropic organizations, and social enterprises both in the United States and abroad. Tom Sheridan, our founder, established the nation’s first domestic AIDS coalition, which eventually involved more than 140 national organizations. He was the chief architect and strategist behind the enactment of landmark legislation for the HIV/AIDS community, the Ryan White CARE Act, as well as the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), and more recently served as a lead strategist behind the creation of the Social Innovation Fund in 2009. Regardless of the electoral shifts, it is our experience that well-placed organizations and causes can achieve remarkable policy and funding results. From the millions of lives saved by the advocacy of Bono’s ONE Campaign to the thousands of young lives changed by Benetech’s Bookshare library, we have seen the ability of effective advocacy strategies to deliver a remarkable return on investment – in both human and financial terms.
