We determine the essence of each project by exploring the relationships between owner, site, program and budget. These are unique to each project and blending them leads to original design solutions. New house designs employ vernacular forms infused with a modern-day spirit, while additions and remodels seamlessly blend the good attributes of a house with its new elements. We strive to blend modern technology and design with the architectural character and beauty of craft that we find in the past. Our approach is based on a respect for our clients and the work of the architects, builders and crafts people who preceded us. Our approach has been successful since the firm was established in 1999. Sustainable Design Sustainability has always been our approach at Meryl Kramer Architect. In recent years, great attention has been focused on green buildings, including how to quantify and certify what is green, educate about green design and construction practices, and promote the benefits of green buildings. Meryl is a LEED – Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design – Accredited Professional, a member of the United States Green Building Council, and enthused about incorporating green design, construction and operation into client projects.
