The Portuguese Railway Cluster Platform Association is a joint initiative gathering more than 90 players in the domestic rail system divided up into huge public and private companies, SME, non-corporate bodies within the SI&I and other corporate associations. They are all moved by the following goals: • Increasing competitiveness of the national rail system at both efficiency and attractiveness levels; • Developing new products and systems in the railway business; • Contributing to greater quality and availability of the national rail infrastructure and to deliver safe and high quality rail passenger and freight services. The aim is that PFP can be known as a dynamic and proactive cluster in pursuing a collective efficiency strategy and a place for knowledge sharing as well as value chains and network developing. The end result would be better competitiveness, and a greater innovation ability coupled with a radical new way of tackling the rail sector.
