River House is an eco-inn for restoration of body and soul. We offer fine dining on the Yangtse River, hiking, golfing, riding, pond boating, and classes in painting, beginners' equestrian, Mosuo dancing and organic gardening. The cook will prepare dinner for you to dine on the terrace any day of the year, or you can choose the north dining room and watch the boats instead. Most of our guests lounge around, sing with the frogs, traipse around the marshes photographing egrets, herons and cranes, try out the mini-golf, get halfway up the sky-high trapeze and get scared, and, occasionally, play the piano. A few of our guests play golf every day, help make the evening bonfire, run the whole way around the island and go hunting for crabs and periwinkles. We especially like it if you tell good stories, sing in harmony and sing it well, or tell the cook you love his cooking (he loves to hear it from the guests). We don't like it if you try to smoke (the entire site is a no-smoking area), piddle on the organic tomatos (we do wash them anyway) or leap into the pond without a life jacket if you can't swim. The dog will leap in to try to save you and you might find that an even bigger surprise.
