After serving as an independent consultant to numerous projects over the past two decades, Dr. Geoffrey D. Borman founded MDI in 2012. Though MDI specializes in the design and analysis of randomized field trials, we conduct a range of other research, development, and consulting services to help provide our clients with high-quality and reliable data to make the best, measured decisions, about their most pressing policy and program questions. MDI has recently co-directed or directed a variety of prominent efforts, including a 2016 Laura and John Arnold Foundation funded RCT of an intervention designed to help students make successful transitions from elementary to middle school, a 2016 IES-funded Goal 3 national student-level randomized field trial of the Descubriendo La Lectura (DLL) program (the Spanish-language version of the widely known Reading Recovery intervention), and ongoing provision of technical assistance to a total of 15 recipients of Investing In Innovation (i3) grants.
