All-Star Advocacy is a nonprofit organization centered around athlete activism and empowering lasting change in San Diego and surrounding communities. Athletes have long been punished for voicing their views on racial injustice and societal issues affecting their communities. Instead, they are pressured to remain silent by threats on their lives and their livelihoods, and calls to “stay in their lane” or just “shut up and dribble.” All-Star Advocacy changes all that. We create a platform for athletes to utilize their social capital to enrich their communities. We work directly with current and former professional athletes and local leaders in strategic partnerships to develop and amplify their voices in order to directly address pressing community issues. We take action today instead of just making promises for tomorrow. Together, we work to create a San Diego more representative of the values and needs of its underserved residents.
