Tonon USA was established by Ms. Gloria Tonon-Kozma (P.E. and CEO), and Dr. Fulvio Tonon (P.E., Ph.D., President) to provide these lines of service: • Consulting Engineering in the fields of rock mechanics and engineering, and underground excavations (both soils and rock, conventional and mechanized tunneling). • Laboratory tests on rock (with special emphasis on specialty tests for underground excavations) and soil abrasion for tunneling projects. For over 2 years, we have been FAA approved for the commercial acquisition of aerial data by UASs. One distinctive feature of our UASs is that we can accurately (1/2 in absolute accuracy) georeference pictures directly from the air, without having to place control points on the ground or structure. This is extremely valuable when it is difficult/dangerous/expensive to access the ground/structure to be modelled (e.g., unstable slope, hydraulic structures such as spillways, long stretches of roads, etc.). We can collect data in the vertical, horizontal, and any direction. • 3D models textured with high resolution pictures for: Rock mass characterization: fracture mapping, facture sets, fracture spacing, rock block size, unstable blocks, rock mass classifications As-builts Inspections Monitoring Documentation of construction activities: orthophotos, excavation and fill volumes, lift heights, etc. • Vigor maps for vegetation: an example is the NDVI (non-dimensional vegetation index), but we can provide georeferenced maps obtained by any function of: red, green, near-infrared, and red-edge spectra. • Powerline and solar panel inspections, including infrared inspections.
