The Workplace Equity project (WE) is building a community of diverse voice to advance equity in the scholarly publishing industry through research, communication, and advocacy. WE will launch an industry-wide survey, endorsed by Society of Scholarly Publishing (SSP), STM, NFAIS, and UN Women UK in late January 2018. Results from the will be presented at the SSP 40th Annual Meeting, May 30-June 1, 2018, during the panel: "Gender Equity in the Scholarly Publishing Industry -- Survey Report and Panel Discussion." . An independent non-profit organization, WE collaborates with stakeholders across the scholarly publishing ecosystem to: - promote a workforce that better reflects the diversity of the general population; - advocate for greater access to resources and opportunities for all demographics at every level within an organization; - advance industry efforts to embrace diversity and effective inclusion by collecting data, defining key metrics, tracking progress, and reporting transparently, and - foster equitable business practices and behaviors through communication and consultation.
