As a private institution at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) it offers English-taught degree programs with a high level of service in Germany. In close cooperation with relevant industries, the International Department prepares students for successful international careers. Currently, four schools and an academy are hosted under the legal umbrella of the International Department – offering Bachelor, Master, Executive Master, PhD programs and more: - Carl Benz School of Engineering – Mechanical Engineering College of the KIT - HECTOR School of Engineering & Management – Technology Business School of the KIT - Karlsruhe School of Optics & Photonics – First International Graduate School of the KIT - Helmholtz International Research School for Teratronics – Graduate School of the KIT - Hector Fellow Academy – Science Academy & Interdisciplinary Research Network for Hector Fellows The Carl Benz School, founded in 2000, offers high-quality education in the form of an undergraduate mechanical engineering degree program. The HECTOR School, established in 2005, provides part-time master programs for the advanced education of engineers, computer scientists, and economists as well as certificate courses and customized partner programs fostering lifelong learning. Since 2006, the Karlsruhe School of Optics & Photonics broadens the portfolio of the International Department with full-time Master and Doctorate Programs in Optics & Photonics. The Helmholtz International Research School for Teratronics was established in 2012 to produce a new generation of researchers and developers with competences in the entire electromagnetic spectrum. The Hector Fellow Academy, founded in 2013, provides outstanding scientists with a platform for networking and promotes promising young scientists.
