RunWhen

www.runwhen.com

RunWhen is a platform for Social Reliability Engineering. Heavily influenced by Site Reliability Engineering tools at Google, it answers the question: “What do I run when _______?” by combining know-how from senior SREs on your team with code from community experts in a form that is easy to use by colleagues across your organization. Senior SREs use the platform to import code packages powering SLOs, SLIs, and automated SRE tasks from the RunWhen community, arranging the running code in a Google Maps-style visualization of their tech stack. As a team’s map matures, junior SREs and other members of the organization can follow routes in the map for analysis, reporting, triage, and remediation. This map visualization provides a simple way to present information to colleagues outside of SRE to increase organizational awareness of the trade-offs around reliability, feature velocity, and toil. Routes on the map dramatically reduce the time-to-full-productivity for new SREs on a team with opinionated practices and a complex tech stack. RunWhen is made to connect the SRE community at-large, improve cross-departmental communication, speed up team member onboarding, and remove organizational knowledge loss. This platform has been crafted into the perfect SRE tool and we’d love for you to experience it. Contact us to sign up for the beta today!
