We produce fact and scientific-based analyses, work together with diverse stakeholders (government, companies, and civil society organizations), provide assistance and capacity building for policy makers and other stakeholders in need, and create specific issue for collaborative campaign. IESR's main scopes of work are: 1. Energy transition 2. Climate change 3. Extractive industries 4. Sustainable mobility IESR team of staff consists of experts, practitioners, and highly qualified graduates from reputable universities in Indonesia and abroad. They possess in-depth knowledge and experience on energy, climate change, natural resource management, and environmental issues; in addition to working and engaging with a wide range of stakeholders in local, national, and international levels. *********** IESR was previously Working Group on Power Sector Restructuring (WGPSR), a coalition of CSOs (Yayasan Geni, debtWATCH, INFID, LBH Jakarta, ICW, YLKI and PIRAC) working to monitor and intervene the drafting process of then new Electricity Law. The group was also involved in the test material of the law in front of Constitutional Court in 2004. During 2001 - 2006, WGPSR actively conducted policy advocacy and regulations advocacy in energy and electricity sector. In 2007, based on an external evaluation, WGPSR was transformed to a permanent institution now known as IESR.
