The Department of Emergency Services is a family of mothers, fathers, brothers, sisters, friends, and relatives who are dedicated to and will touch the lives of every citizen of this county and far beyond. Be it in good times, or the most disastrous of times of our lives. Not many groups can impact people's lives directly and as often as we do every day. The people of Cambria 9-1-1 are true professionals dedicated to the important job we perform for others. Operations Our Center, located in the Human Services Building in Ebensburg, PA is staffed 24 hours a day, 7 days a week by 7 Telecommunicators and one Shift Supervisor. In the 2011 fiscal year our center answered just over 62,000 emergency calls and almost 270,000 non-emergency calls. This breaks down to an average of 170 emergency calls per day and an average of 31 non-emergency calls per hour. In addition to answering all of those calls, our Telecommunicators are also responsible for the radio dispatch of the 42 fire departments, 20 ambulance stations and 39 municipal police departments in Cambria County.
