A democratic clean energy economy starts by finding solutions to these questions: - How do we access the benefits of solar PV, battery storage and energy efficiency if we are renting, live in an apartment or don't have a suitable roof? - How can my business reduce our carbon footprint if we have no roof space for a solar array? - What does this energy transition really mean for me if the consumer is now the centre of the system? - Can I save money? An energy democracy is the ability for people to guide by their choices the changes needed in our electricity system to become a resilient, localised, and democratic clean energy economy. Energy Democracy has been established to mobilise communities of people and enterprises committed to making a positive contribution to our lives by facilitating the establishment of co-operative networks in local communities, and then assisting the co-operatives to deliver cost effective renewable energy to homes and businesses that do not have the capacity to generate onsite.
