Akahu provides open finance infrastructure for New Zealand. Our purpose is to give Kiwis control of their financial data. We do that by providing the best account connectivity in NZ. We maintain deeply functional data integrations with New Zealand financial institutions, and bundle those integrations into a simple API for developers. Our API delivers payment initiation, enriched transaction data, account data, identify verification, and bank account verification. Akahu’s suite of integrations have been used in production since 2017. We’ve made our API available to accredited 3rd parties since December 2020, following an investment from Westpac New Zealand.
