The College of Agriculture, Human and Natural Sciences is the land-grant unit of Tennessee State University (TSU). As such, the College has a mandate to not only educate the students in its classrooms, but to reach out to the population of Tennessee and provide the research, education, and training necessary to Tennesseans to lead lives that are as healthy and productive as possible. The college is unique in having a physical presence in 44 counties in the state, where its staff of professionals addresses the needs of Tennesseans through extension programs and research facilities including the College's three research and education centers: Main Campus (Nashville), Ashland City (Cheatham County), and McMinnville (Otis L. Floyd Nursery Center in Warren County). Currently, the College engages in its reaching, research, and extension functions through four academic departments: the Department of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences, the Department of Family and Consumer Sciences, the Department of Biological Sciences, and the Department of Chemistry.
